Under the Republic of Korea scholarship program, for the 2026–2027 academic year, a total of 30 students will be selected and enrolled in the bachelor’s program at Dongyang University

Purpose of the Scholarship: Within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Road and Transport of Mongolia and Dongyang University of the Republic of Korea, the scholarship aims to develop human resources for Mongolia’s railway sector and to advance railway technologies in both countries.

 

  • Dongyang University has two campuses, Yeongju and Dongducheon, and is the first railway university in the Republic of Korea.

  • The university consists of 5 faculties, 2 main campuses, 27 departments, 18 affiliated organizations, and 15 research institutes.

  • The university also actively cooperates internationally with countries such as Mongolia, Japan, Canada, China, Vietnam, and others.

Scholarship Benefits: Tuition and dormitory fees are discounted.
  • The academic year at Dongyang University, located in Dongducheon, South Korea, will start in March 2026.
  • Students will receive a D-2 type visa for the duration of their study.
  • Tuition fees will be discounted by 40% for 4 years.

Additionally, students who achieve academic excellence, rank high in GPA, and actively participate in extracurricular activities may receive further discounts.

Types of Scholarships:

  •       Scholarship 1: Special scholarship exclusively for students of the Railway Department.
  •       Scholarship 2: For foreign students at the university level based on academic ranking, each semester 500,000–1,000,000 KRW.

International Railway Infrastructure Engineering

Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Students must be between 18 and 24 years old.
  • Graduates of general secondary schools in Mongolia with an average score of 80 or higher (must have a complete secondary education certificate).
  • Students in the 1st or 2nd year of accredited Mongolian universities with a GPA of 2.6 or higher.
  • Passing the Korean language proficiency test (TOPIK) at level 3 or higher is an advantage.

 

Additionally, a joint transfer program with the Mongolian Railway University will begin in September 2027. Students can study two years in Mongolia, complete language preparation, and then enter directly into the third year.

Language Preparation Information:

  • Students without knowledge of the Korean language can participate in a six-month language preparation program from September 2025 to February 2026 at the university.
  • After completing language preparation and passing the TOPIK test with level 3 or higher, students become eligible for the scholarship
  • Language preparation classes are held 3–4 days per week.
  • Tuition for the language preparation program is 2,000,000 KRW, with dormitory fees paid separately.
  • Classes are taught by Korean instructors with doctoral degrees.
  • The program provides textbooks from Seoul National University’s language preparation program and full support for learning environment and visa information.
  • Language preparation fees are the lowest market rate, the program lasts only 6 months, and there is no need to go through intermediary agencies; visa issuance is guaranteed.
